TRENDnet is finally launching the variant equipped with an adapter socket of his CPL 500 Mbps, although it was early in this market by being slightly ahead of last November. The manufacturer, however, used to space the variations of the same innovation, as he recently demonstrated with the Wi-Fi N to 450 Mbps.

The new adapter “TPL-402″ though based on the same controller Intellon HomePlug 7200, is offering a theoretical maximum throughput of 500 Mbps, while respecting the HomePlug AV standard to ensure compatibility with the majority of PLC adapters on the market. It can easily join a network with other adapters adopting this standard, using a bind button synchronizing encryption AES 128-bit. It contains, however, a filter against noise generated by many electrical appliances. It has the added benefit of not condemning the outlet, since it offers a female making it almost transparent, while up close but not to spill over into adjacent outlets. The “TRENDnet TPL-402″ will be proposed initially in Europe and consists of two adapters kit, under the reference” TPL402E2K “, available immediately to the retail price of 130 euros. It is more affordable than the Devolo CPL equivalent model.
